About this Project
SUMMARY
Existing, multi-story occupied office building. Work was done in 3 phases: Phase 1 included removal and replacement of existing ribbon windows on 3 floors of 3 sides of the building. Through-wall flashing, stone headers and sills were added. Phase 2 involved construction of new entrance on west side of building. Traffic using this entrance was diverted to existing east side entrance during this phase. Phase 3 was the completion of work on the east side of the building. All traffic was re-diverted to the new entrance that was completed in Phase 2. Entire new glass curtain wall was installed full height along with new main entrance to the building. New Lobby and main staircase was constructed in the entrance along with all new finishes. Del’s Construction was the Construction Manager on this project and also self-performed the concrete and masonry work.
CHALLENGES FACED
Building occupancy during construction ranged from 150-200 people. Parking, access and noise were all issues to be dealt with. Scheduling was critical with a number of items being done before or after normal working hours or on a weekends. Coordination with Cambria personnel was an every-day requirement on this project.
